The Manila Pen Show 2026 is just a week away, with the sixth edition happening at Fairmont Hotel featuring the largest list of exhibitors so far.

35 out of more than 60 exhibitors are first timers to the show, providing a wider range of pens, inks, paper, and accessories for this year’s visitors.

Established in 1993, the manufacturer combines “ancient complicated techniques and traditions of old Russian icon painting” with “Japanese ways of using the lacquer and maki-e.”

Based in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, this maker produces wood-based bodies meant to age well for different pens and mechanical pencils.

Eboya creates fountain pens with Nikko Ebonite, a synthetic resin made from natural rubber. It has a “lacquer-like gloss” that can be restored with polishing since ebonite experience discoloration and dullness over time.

5) Fountain Pen Workshop Furuta

Seigo Furuta creates giant pens with giant nibs, learning the craft from the late Kubo Kogyo. Based on this nibbedinthebud post, a Furuta nib easily dwarfs the Lamy one.

All pens by Furuta-san are made to order and require a workshop visit for finetuning in Japan, so this Manila Pen Show visit will be rare encounter with his work.

6) Fine Writing Instruments (FWI)

Launched in 2011, FWI has various original fountain pen models using different materials from wood to resin. They have a good mix of mass production and limited edition pens, a must-check booth for all types of penthusiasts.

Fuga Pens customizes pens with maki-e work, aside from producing their own fountain pen models. The official MPS guide notes that the duo behind the brand are some “of the few in the industry producing in-house nibs and feeds.”

10) Leonardo Officina Italiana

This 50-year-old Italian pen maker uses rare ebonite and celluloid, with numerous collections featuring unique silhouettes. Most models are usually available in both gold and steel nibs, with the latter priced usually at half of the former. This makes Leonardo Officina Italiana pens are somewhat accessible to newbies who want to own the iconic fountain pen but are not yet ready for the pricetag that comes with gold nibs.

11) Lotus Pens

Lotus Pens was founded in 2017, and works with metal and ebonite for its fountain pens. Aside from bodies that come in plain colors, they also have models that feature textured and marbled patterns. They also have special hand-painted fountain pens.

12) Magna Carta

Established in 1988, Magna Carta manufactures everything in house: from pen body materials to feeds and nibs. They also produce a “true flex” 14k nib, and their flagship fountain pen is the large MAG 1000 model.

13) OAC Pens

Established in 1995, Orchid Art & Craft uses rare materials and traditional metalwork for its pens. For the Manila Pen Show, they are bringing in a white pen with the image of Jose Rizal engraved and painted by hand.

14) Studyo Ağaçkakan

Established in 2013, the studio aims “to convey Turkish motifs to fountain pen lovers all over the world with our mastery.” They also offer personalized pens and works with specialty resins.

The “baby” of India’s local fountain pen scene, the brand pushes to “serve the premium writing instruments at affordable price.” They also developed their own specialty nib, the Conical Autograph.
