Manila Fountain Pen Show 2019 set for 2 days in November

Last year’s inaugural Manila Fountain Pen Show was huge, with a jam-packed floor at SM Aura. This year’s edition is bound to get bigger! So if you’re free on the date mentioned below, don’t miss it! (Unfortunately, one of us here will. Sad.)

J. Herbin releases new shimmering ink

There’s a new addition to the French company’s Jacques Herbin 1798 line of fountain pen inks: Kyanite du Nepal. Set to be released on June 21 (actual date might vary in the Philippines, depending on your trusty supplier), Kyanite is a “bright blue” with “silver glitter.” Pen Chalet already has a pre-release review of the ink.

TWSBI 580 Rose Gold set to make a comeback

The Taiwanese pen company’s earlier version of the 580 Rose Gold was beautiful, but its reputation was hounded by issues of the nib plating flaking.

This month, TWSBI announced that the 580RG’s plating “has been improved” together with some aesthetic changes.
